Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the Second Asian Conference on Endometriosis (ACE II) in Istanbul, Turkey. The theme of ACE II is "Living with Endometriosis."

As you know, Asia is the world's largest and the most populous continent, hosting 60 % of world's current human population. Endometriosis is a debilitating disease with an enigmatic pathogenesis. With a prevelance of approximately 10% in women of reproductive age, endometriosis affects much more women in Asia than any other continent in the world and impacts negatively on economy and society.

Initiated by active endometriosis researchers from Turkey, China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan, it was decided to have biennial ACE meetings, with alternating meeting locations to promote research in endometriosis in Asia. It is hoped that the ACE will provide a venue for exchange of research discoveries and ideas, sharing experience, insights and perhaps data and provide a forum for better communication and understanding among scientists and clicians in endometriosis research and patient care. Working with like-minded people in other continents, the ultimate goal of the ACE is to alleviate or even eliminate the sufferings of women crippled by endometriosis.

Organized jointly by the Endometriosis and Adenomyosis Association of Turkey and ACE Organization (ACEO) the Second Asian Conference on Endometriosis (ACE II) is being held from November 9 to 11 in Istanbul, Turkey. The subsequent ACEs are scheduled to be held in Seoul in 2014, Tokyo in 2016, and Taiwan in 2018.

We hope you have a productive meeting and an enjoyable and memorable stay in Istanbul, the only metropolis in the world that is situated on two continents, the most dynamic city, cultural, economic, and financial centre of Turkey.
